Fairtrade Fortnight 2025

What is Fairtrade Fortnight?

Fairtrade Fortnight is an annual campaign that shines a spotlight on the farmers and workers around the world who grow the food and cotton we rely on every day. Running for two weeks, it raises awareness of the importance of fair prices, decent working conditions, and sustainable practices, ensuring that the people at the heart of supply chains are treated with dignity and respect. It’s also a chance for businesses and consumers alike to reflect on the choices we make and how they can create a positive impact across global communities.

At Impact Trading & Cotton Roots, we really believe that what you wear, gift, or showcase should feel good in every sense. By choosing Fairtrade and Organic fabrics, working with suppliers who share our values and swapping out wasteful packaging for recycled alternatives, we’ve built a process that feels good from start to finish.

Fairtrade Fortnight is a moment to pause, celebrate those values and to remember that every choice, every stitch, every box can make a difference!

Visiting the Cotton Farmers

For us, Fairtrade isn’t just a label, it’s about knowing that the people behind the cotton and the craft are treated with respect and fairness. Back in 2010 our Managing Director, Susan, travelled to India to see first-hand the impact of Fairtrade. Visiting cotton farmers and a school built for children of farming families certainly was a powerful reminder of the difference Fairtrade makes. You can read more about her fantastic trip in our blog, here.

Seeing first-hand the positive impact Fairtrade has on local communities was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do, and why sustainability has to be more than just a buzzword!

Fairtrade is, at its core, about people. It’s about the cotton farmer who can send their child to school, the communities who gain security through co-operatives and the dignity that comes from fair pay for honest work. Consumers and organisations are increasingly seeking products that align with their values, Fairtrade gives assurance that fairness, transparency, and sustainability are built in from the ground up. Every polo shirt, every tote bag, every uniform we produce is a reminder that small choices add up to big change.

Fairtrade allows us to connect creativity with conscience, that is a journey we are committed to walking, every step of the way.
